Ah, so you’d like to know more about “us”… Hmmm, it’s just me (Clay Cazier) writing about strategy, news and marketing ideas in the SEO world. Whether it’s PPC advertising or natural optimization, I hope to include bits of information interesting to both lawyers and non-lawyers, web developers and online marketers as well.

Disclosure(?) - I am the SEO Manager at LexisNexis Martindale Hubbell. This gives me pretty good insight into the legal marketing landscape, website development and optimization tactics. You should be aware I will use resources and marketing samples I’ve encountered between 9-5 in my blogging. But not often, because that wouldn’t be good for SEO… :)

CaseDetails.com is a work in progress I post to when the mood strikes me. I’ve been working in web development/SEO for around 12 years now, so I’ve developed four particular interests:

  • Law Firm SEO - see above… current legal marketing projects include ones for injured railroad workers, Ft Lauderdale injury lawyers and an Ohio criminal defense law firm.
  • Hotel Reservation/Travel Sites - for 5+ years, I worked with a team developing hotel reservation websites and the associated affiliate program. It went well… Since we sold the hotel reservation network to an uber-corporation in 2003 (I guess old habits die hard) I’ve continued to work with these types of sites on my own.
  • Blogging & CMS Work - always looking for efficient ways to market, I’ve grown into blogging about desktop computer systems, playing with Joomla, Pligg and other nifty things.
  • Domain Name Prospecting - this is a market that’s not as hot as it used to be… I’ve bought and sold a huge number of domains in the past. Point being to buy them for $7 a pop and re-sell them for anything from $60 to thousands of dollars. I’ll take those margins!

My overall philosophy and, by extension, the philosophy of this site? I’ve been part of a number of web success stories and (yes) a few noble, failed online marketing efforts in the past. I’ve learned a number of things along the way and continue to absorb and test the information handed down from the ~SEO gods above~. My goal here, as it is in my working life, is to pass along as much of what I’ve learned as I can to help those interested in the same topics. I hate to charge for advice that I’ve gotten for free, so why not post it here?
